MYTH

The Mongolian people lived for about 2,520 years, and were just like any other country. Jhah Jhing Jah was the main god of the Mongolians, and is the founder of it (not really, h

e is fake). He noticed a brilliant panda on the Earth one day. He was taken by its majestic beauty, and honored it by making it queen of a country that his brother and he had created (both him and his brother were gods). The brother told him that a panda could not be a queen of a country. He disagreed, but let him go along with his plan just so he could watch his failure. Jah wanted to prove that he was wrong. Sure enough when the she started to rule, the panda queen ran away into the forest. Jah had to go find her or his brother would be right, and he would look bad. He searched all over, and still he could not find her. To
this day he is stilllooking for her so that he can prove his brother wrong.

HISTORY
In about 4000ad, the Mongolian Empire was born along with its capitol of Karakorum. This city was always largest, and had eight people by 830ad. It had a library, and its people did lots of research which led to discoveries. The second city to be founded was Softball in 2800BC. It was the the second largest, and had six people by 830ad. The empire would later found eight more cities. The Mongolians studied polytheism which means that they started believing in more than one god. That and mysticism led to the founding of their religion, Hinduism. Although it was not discovered until 1235ad, it was the only known religion of the Mongolians. They also made many discoveries. One of the first ones was writing, along with the alphabet. They later went on to pottery and bronze working. Nothing was recorded after 1250ad.

ERAS

  • ERA OF POOR RULERS
In 230 ad a ruler named Gen If Ar came to power. He was arrogant and did not care about his people. The people came to him to complain. They told him that Karakorum was too crowded, and other problems. He simply ignored what they said so the people forced by 224 him out of power. He ruled during a time an insignificant time, and got the name Ar The Careless. Then it was Mak In Zy. He ruled from 149ad-138, and tried to do good. He failed at it because he made poor decisions. While he was in power the Empire lost money, and made no discoveries. The people favored him, and named him Zy the kind because he was good to the people, but bad as a ruler. A man named Tony Ti Toh was also a ruler, but he was different from the others. From 192ad to 187 ad, he made bunches of unnecessary laws. He demanded things like making the people take two days every week to come honor and praise him. He ruled during the time when the country was studying priesthood. There were many other bad rulers in this era, but these ones were important because they were all poor leaders in different ways Q? Which of these rulers do you think is the worst of the three?

  • ERA OF PEACE

Starting around 685ad, the Mongolians were at peace. The people now had a good ruler, and were content. The ruler that made this possible was Zik Fahgahu. This man is what helped the make economic discoveries, and maintain happiness. He also ruled when the city of Big was founded in 685ad. He ruled until 690ad. The country also researched drama. They entertained one other with plays of love and happiness. That also included the creating of literature stories and making art. They also took interest in mathematics. This time lasted for many great years.

  • ERA OF WAR N
In about 1145 ad, the Japanese empire was west of Mongolian land. The two countries had lived next to each other in peace for many years, but when a ruler named Motangi Go (Go the fierce) ,a cruel man, finally came along, the two would no longer be allies. Go craved war, and the Japanese would be a good target because they were so close and would not expect it. He was also a good speaker and convinced his people that they could not trust the Japanese. So Motangi Go declared war on Japan. This conflict lasted until 1250ad. It didn't take the Mongolians long to realize what a foolish decision it was to go to war with the country that had been a good friend to them for so long. They complained to Go that they were tired of war, but he ignored them. So the people revolted, and forced him out of his authority. It was not known what happened after 1250ad. Although this war did not have much close combat, it was the only war in Mongolian history. Q? Why did Japan not expect to be attacked?

LIFE IN MONGOLIA

  • Geographics -The weather was mild, and the nights were cool. The Empire was surrounded by forest, and some mountains. It was southeast of Japan, and west of the Aztecs. It was also on the coast so its people learned how to fish and sail.
  • People- If you were a middle class person in this society, you worked quite a bit, but had a good life. You would live in the in a straw house with your family. Rich people lived in manors in the country. The rich society owned horses and servants. The poor lived in shacks together. The poor tended to get sicker easier because of everybody being close together spreading disease.
  • Shelter-The house had a maximum of three rooms on the inside. All the rooms in the house were relatively plain, and included one a bedroom (everyone shared), a kitchen/eating room, and a sitting room (this is were you practiced your religion). The women wove your clothes and prepared your food while you worked outside.
